Produces Music

Seth produced his first record at age 18, a big band recording featuring talent from all over California. Since then, he has produced, recorded and mixed for artists across the US and West Africa. A seasoned performer, arranger, and audio engineer, he brings experience and a diverse skill set to the evolving role of the contemporary music producer.

Whether you're working on a single or a full length record, Seth can help you take your vision to its fullest potential. From supporting the creative process to handling the nitty gritty like budgets, picking a studio, hiring musicians and meeting deadlines, he's the resourceful and reliable partner you need on your musical journey.

Seth manages Snowman Studio in Kentfield, CA, and is currently an apprentice to Roger Deller, lead tech at Electric Lady Studios.

Plays Music

Seth specializes in the clarinet, bass clarinet, saxophone and penny whistle. Originally trained as a classical clarinetist, his diverse musical interests led to the study of Jazz, Pop and African music, making him equally comfortable playing at a rock club or performing with a full orchestra.

As a performer, Seth has had the opportunity to tour extensively in the US, Europe, Ghana and West Africa with diverse groups like Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox, Akoya Afrobeat, Roosevelt Dime and the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra.

Seth heads the NYC-based band No Small Money Brass Band.

Preserves Audio

Seth’s experience as an accomplished musician and dedication to the preservation of recorded music led him to Accra, Ghana with the support of a 2007 Fulbright Grant and New York University. While in Ghana Seth worked with the music archives of Kofi Ghanaba, John Collins, the Cape Coast Gramophone Museum and the University of Ghana. Upon returning to NYC Seth worked at AudioVisual Preservation Solutions handling hundreds of hours of recordings and managing large scale digitization projects. Currently Seth works as an Audio Preservation Consultant, Media Preservation Specialist and is learning how to repair and maintain audio recording equipment.

The short film below, directed by Seth Paris, was featured at the 2016 10th Orphan Film Symposium about the Seprewa, a Ghanaian harp lute. Filmed at the JHK Nketia Archives, 2015. Featuring Osei Kwame. (Edited by Fidelia Serwaa Ametewee)
